Ten Things Thursday

1. I am taking my "mental health" day today and I love it! I would have loved it more if my fur baby had not decided that she just had to go pee at 7:00 am. We got back in the bed, but then I was wide awake...and this is what she was doing...

2. It has been so warm in these parts this week...near 80. My grass already needs to be mowed!! I  love the beautiful weather, but I am more than a little pissed that I only got 1 measly little snow day this year.

3. Since my insurance will be changing shortly, I decided I better call my doctor and get a 90 day prescription called in for all my current meds. I have been with my doctor for years. We know each other very well. He even used to be married to the mother of my best friend from first grade (we are still friends after all these years). Any way...he knows me well enough to know that I commonly diagnose myself with my wealth of internet medical knowledge. As he was going over my list of medications and dosages I interrupted him on one of them (Lasix) and said "oh no, you don't have to worry about calling that one in...I stopped taking one. I decided since my ankles hadn't been swelling any more I didn't need that one." His reply: "Where was it exactly that you obtained your M.D.???" Without missing a beat I said "University of G**gle." (and then I threw my head back and just laughed and laughed)  He said that didn't trump his M.D. from UT and I still had to take it.

4. Have I ever told you that I don't wear high heels?? I wish I could, but I trip and fall in them every time. Maybe one day I will learn how to walk in them. If I do, and if the teaching gig gets old and I decide to become a stripper I want some of these...

5. For now, these are more my speed...

6. Grey's Anatomy is a rerun tonight....boooo

7. The Boy being a senior this year is going to send me to the poor house. In the past week I have spent  $500 on various things....$160 for Prom tickets, $260 for band trip to Atlanta, and $80 for a yearbook. I didn't even mention all the money that has already been spent on Senior pictures and Graduation invitations. How do people afford to have several kids in high school at once???

8. I am so way excited about going to BOOBs this year!! I am not excited about getting there by myself. People, I get lost in my own neighborhood if I'm not careful.

9. I tried to call and get an appt. to get my hair done today. My hairdresser is on vaycay...I swear I think she plans her vacations around my hair schedule. If she can't get me in before I start my new job I may have to cheat on her and go to my back up...she gets a little pissy when I do that.

10. I am 47 days clean from the crack juice :)

I can sympathize with the cost of a senior. Back when my oldest was starting his senior year, they had a meeting for all senior parents and the principal joking said that we might as well just come up and hand him our wallets because they were going to be hitting us up for money all year...I was glad when the year was over!!
