I live with Junk Food Junkies

I always do my grocery shopping on the weekends. I swear every week that I will start going during the week so I don't have to deal with as many crazies, but it never happens.

Do y'all's husbands/wives/girlfriends/boyfriends/kids go to the grocery store with you??

The Rockstar occassionally goes with me. I love it and I hate it all at the same time. I love spending time with him, but when he goes I make some really poor choices and I spend WAY too much money. Ya see, The Rockstar loves him some junk food. He is all about some chips, cookies, doughnuts, juice, soft drinks (he likes Pepsi, so no temptation for me there), and ice cream.

I said when I got this band that I never wanted the rest of my family to have to make changes just because I did. Yes, it would be better for their health if they did...but that is their decision to make, not mine. The Rockstar and The Boy don't have ANY weight issues. The Big Boy struggles with his weight, but he longer lives at home. The Rockstar is 6'4 and struggles to keep his weight up to (or just over) 200. It is not fair. And I am very jealous about it.

I keep all of their junk food in one cabinet...that way I can just totally avoid the cabinet. Here is what their cabinet looks like now...

Those two plastic containers in the back are filled with honey buns and snack cakes. Now, for the most part this stuff doesn't tempt me. I have never been big on eating chips or snack cakes. I was more of candy bar and cookie kinda gal. However, some times things find their way into my house that quickly becomes kryptonite to me. Like this...

I love popcorn, especially Kettle Corn. This stuff tastes as good as the kind you get at the fair. I can not buy these crack puffs again...I just can't resist that salty sweet temptation when it's in my house.

Even my babies get their own "junk food" every week. Look what I found this week at the store for them...

Somebody please tell me I am not the only who lives with junk food junkies.

I have the same problem at my house. My husband and son are total junk food junkies. My son is 5'4" 104 pounds and trying to put ON weight. So he pounds the icecream a 1/2 gallon every few days. The hubby is a chip fiend. I like both!

Peaches will eat anything I buy, so as long as I make sure he does not go shopping with me we are a-ok. If he does go, then chips, chocolate, sour patch kids (my all time fav) and pizza will follow us home. However, since I went on my liquid diet he has been very supportive and kept all his junk food inhalations outside of the house.

My hubby is very supportive of my weight loss efforts. If I say no to something there is not another word about it, however, as awesome as hubby is about not bringing stuff in the house, he's really not good at all about helping with MY willpower if I say, how about X junk food he will immediately say yes. I have to be strong and lately it hasn't been easy. I'm with ya sista.

Having just moved in with my boyfriend, this is a new struggle for me. Like you, I have a separate cupboard for all his junk so I don't have to look at it. It's tough though! x

My kids are young enough to where they have to bend to my will and Hubby has lapband too so we're usually on the same page. I can't have the stuff in my house or I'll eat it.

Too cute on the pet cookies. What section were they in? I have seen the pup ice cream but never these. Do share!

I know your pain all too well, I had to move in with my sister who constantly complains about her weight yet will continue to eat junk food. Her husband smokes, and her brother is a morbidly obese person who just sits in the chair smokes pot, and eats crap. I hate crap, I hate the fact that my sister is such a controlling b**** she insists on cooking for me. I cook my own food, and I have to endure this fatty triglyceride hell until my check comes next week. I discovered the value of nutrition because Im a comic book junkie. I run 3 miles to the gym non stop and immediately lift weights. I only drink beet juice, and coconut water instead of gatorade (which I frikin loathe) and I will gorge on every type of vegetable you could imagine. I hate b eing hungry and given chips.
