Scared of the Scale

I know many of you are self proclaimed scale whores. I am not. Actually, I am just the opposite. I almost can't force myself to get on the scale. It gives me anxiety to even think about it. What if it hasn't moved...or worse, what if it moved up??? I told myself I weigh every Monday since my surgery was on a Monday, but I just can't make myself do it. I am that scared of failing.

Can I also just tell ya that I have never been self conscious about eating in front of other people...until now. The Rockstar and I went out to eat the other day. My first time eating out and ordering something other than soup. I felt uncomfortable the entire time. I feel crazy sitting my fork down after every bit. All that chewing drives me insane. And why does the server have to keep asking me if I want a drink??? I would just order water, but I don't trust myself enough not to drink it if it's right there in front of me.

In unrelated news...I have unplugged my alarm clock and put it in the closet for the next two weeks...yay me! Tomorrow I have to go Christmas shopping....yes, I have been procrastinating. I always do. I hate to go shopping, so I do it all in one day. You think I could get away with just doing all gift cards this year??

I've learned to let the server bring the glass of water and then I put the glass on the other side of the table where I can't reach it. It shuts up the server. Lol

Wait till they frantically ask you if everything is okay every 5 mins because you haven't dived face first into the plate.

Oh and I forgot about having to constantly fight them off your plate because they keep wanting to take it from you every time you put your fork down and take a break from eating.

Eating out will become more natural to where it's not a big deal at all. I do what Lap Band Gal does and order a water and place it at the other end of the table. I think it's great you don't use the scale...I need it. It holds me accountable but others have divorced their scales and go solely by how they feel and how their clothes fit.

I do the same as the others, let them bring the water and place it out of reach or let someone else at the table have it. My hubby will usually drink his water and mine!

Ditto...I let them bring the water (or iced tea - I'm a southern girl) and then I give it to the hubby to drink. The thing that used to drive me crazy was the constant questions about whether or not my food was ok because I wasn't eating much. I've gotten better about figuring out what to order and if they still ask then I just say the food is wonderful but I'm not very hungry and plan to take it home with me to eat later...that usually shuts them up!

I hate when servers bug me about food or drink. "I'M FINEEEE!" I want to shout.

And I wish I was like you about my scale... but I need the validation! lol
