So today I was casually walking down the hall at school and a coworker (who I don't know that well) stopped me and said "have you lost a bunch of weight since you started working here?" I told her that I had lost about 40 pounds since I had started working there and 83 pounds total.
I felt like a cheater when I told her that. At the time of my tummy tuck I had lost 75 pounds. The PS removed over 7 pounds....so technically, I didn't lose that, it was cut off and sucked out. Do I still get to count that??? I felt like I was being deceitful. I have not hidden the lapband or the tummy tuck to my closest coworkers, but to those I don't see often I just have no reason to bring it up.
Either way, I am happy to not have those 83 pounds on my body now...regardless of how I got rid of them. I have been thinking about posting some after pics for y'all...but I haven't taken any yet. I will NOT be posting the before tt pics on here. If someone asks for them individually I might consider that, but I don't want to put them out there for the world to see.
This week is going great. I feel like I am gaining more and more of my energy back every day. I am completely back to normal in the mornings, but after lunch I become very tired. I have also been going to bed about a half hour earlier.
Let's get ready for hump day and hopefully the rest of the week will be a breeze :)

No! If you are 83 lbs lighter, you are 83 lbs lighter!! If she asks, tell her, if you want! I tell everyone everything!
Glad you are feeling better. I'm working on building up endurance! Back to work next week for me. I think.
the weight is off of you so yes, you lost it!! Not being deceiptful at all!!
Can't wait to see after shots of you cute girl.. you were gorgeous already before the surgery!! :)
I think the exact numbers matter much more to us than anyone else. :-) The point is, you look and feel great, and you worked hard, went through a lot, made many sacrifices - to achieve that goal. Just enjoy.xo
I would not feel guilty at all about keeping it to yourself. If they are not personal friends they have have no reason to know.
yup you lost it! I think we've been bombarded with messages that somehow WLS is an easy way to lose weight or having it sucked out and cut off another easy way etc...but none of it is easy...surgery is painful, it's expensive you made sacrifices in your weight loss journey and it did not take less effort, time or resources then any other weight loss journey :D so YAY you...80+ and feeling good and looking great -- it's all your doing.
Yeah no, that's not cheating. All you went through to recover from that? Nope. Not cheating at all!!!
after the pain you just went thru..I think you earned those pounds..I can't wait to see after pics..but I agree with Jen..you were beautiful BEFORE so I bet you are smoking hot now!
No way is it cheating! You have earned everyone of those pounds!
I don't think it's cheating at all. I have people in my life who I am entirely open with about my band and plastics but most of the people I know don't know anything at all about my band.
I've been more open about my plastics, simply because there's no way I could have been out of the office for 3 weeks, have 12 lbs of skin removed from my ass and thighs and had no one notice...lol.
You've earned this, my friend, so don't feel guilty for a second about not feeling the need to share everything...
it is no longer attached to your body, you lost it!! Remember the pain you went through after the pain pump fiasco? How in the world would that be cheating?
Of course it counts! Lbs are lbs.
Glad you're starting to feel back to normal. And no way is it cheating or being deceitful, some information just doesn't need to be shared with everyone. Looking forward to pics! x
You answered the question. We are not obligated to share every personal detail wth anyone that asks. You earned those pounds off so OWN THEM and don't you let yourself feel one tiny bit guilty.
