Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of y'all! I hope y'all were all safe on new year's eve and brought the new year in with the one's you love. Ours was pretty low key. We had a small party and nobody got so drunk that they puked...that is always good.

I am normally not much of a drinker, but I did partake in a few little drinky drinks that night. I was drinking this...

One of my bff's and I created a mixed drink using it and we named it the "Kinky Pinky"....it was really yummy.

I looked back at my goals for 2012. It was a hit and miss with reaching them...

  • Get a new job by August (by the start of the new school year). Prior to this year I taught in a life skills class (Down's Syndrome, Autistic, ect) for more than 10 years. I LOVED my job. This year Lucifer decided I should be in the Behavior class (gangbangers, felons, emotionally disturbed) and I now do NOT love my job. I need to get back in a class where I feel like I am making a difference.
I totally accomplished this one. I got a new job way before the start of the school year...I started it in March 2012. I love my job!!

  • Get to goal weight by December 31, 2012

Well there is no way I could have reached this goal because I never set a goal weight. The number on the scale hasn't been my motivator...feeling better has. And that was definitely accomplished. I feel better than I have felt in years.

  • Finish writing my Thesis so I can graduate in May with my EdS. I am completely done with all of my coursework, I just have to finish my Thesis and go to defense. I really don't know why I have been procrastinating on this...I could have graduated in December.

This did NOT happen. I continued to procrastinate and make excuses. The truth is I am just not motivated to get this done.

  • Clean out my attic. Every time I think about doing this I get overwhelmed about how much junk is in there and I don't even know where to start. This year I am just going to dive in and not worry about where to start...it doesn't matter where I start, only that I finish.
This also did NOT happen. In fact, I am quite sure I could end up on an episode of Hoarders based on my attic. I feel overwhelmed if I even open the door. In my defense, I am not the one who junked it up.

So those were my goals for 2012. Even though I didn't accomplish them all I feel really good about the year. I also feel very optimistic about this year.

I haven't set any goals for this year. Really, I just want to be the best person I can be :)

I just saw a pin on Pinterest about organizing. I pinned it because I thought it was managable to do.

I see you were a kinky Barbie for New Years Eve! :)

I personally think you did good on your goals. I usually do not make resolutions but I did commit to being positive this year.(wish me luck!lol)

Hope to see you some time this year!

You did fantastic! As for the attic, maybe just spend 15 mins once a week. I bet you could accomplish just a bit each week and feel you're making a dent. : ) Set a timer and only work for 15 mins. : )

Ha ha. I love that I am not the only one with an area in the house fit for a hoarders episode. I attempt to clear my spare room but it just never gets there. Maybe I have a self hoarding room.

Happy new year.

I love Peachtree Schnapps. Oh yum. YUM YUM YUM. I taught an ED classroom. Yeah. Most of the stuff they said (and you know how colorful it is), I had to look up on urbandictionary.com when I got home. Never again.
